Sakya Buddhist Centre, 121 Sommerville Rd, Bristol, BS6 5BX, United Kingdom
Sakya Buddhist Centre, Bristol is hosting a day of practice on Green Tara.
Green Tara is revered as the mother of all Buddhas and the embodiment of wisdom and compassionate activity. She is one of the most widely practised meditation deities in Buddhism and her blessings provide protection from all fears and sicknesses.
During the day we will be using “The Condensed Essence Sadhana of Green Tara”, composed by the great Sakya master Jamyang Khyenste Wangpo.
This sadhana includes the famous praises to the 21 Taras, which was originally brought from India to Tibet by the great Indian master Atisha more than one thousand years ago, and is now found in all traditions of Tibetan Buddhism.
You are invited to join us, if you have taken refuge and received the relevant initiation and reading transmission for this particular practice from a qualified Lama.
The day will consist of 4 one-hour sessions (if you are unable to attend all sessions, please do come to those that you can):
You are welcome to join us for lunch. Please bring something to share if you are staying.
There is no charge for the day. However, donations are welcome.
