Description |
On Saturday 16 November, we will be welcoming back to Exeter, David Armstrong, a long -standing student of Lama Jampa Thaye for a day of study and meditation at the Friends’ Meeting House.David will be taking us through part one of a celebrated text, “A Garland of Jewels” by the Sakya founding Lama Chogyal Phagpa. This work covers the entire Buddhist path, from the level of a beginner to that of full enlightenment. Suitable for newcomers and the more experienced practitioner, it is an easy to understand, comprehensive introduction to the dharma, from the level of a complete beginner to the description of the qualities and activities of a Buddha himself or herself. Each session will involve sitting meditation, listening to a section of the teaching, time for reflection and brief questions. The day will be ideal for anyone wanting to deepen their understanding of the Mahayana Buddhist path.
