Bath Sakya Buddhist Group

Bath Sakya Buddhist Group was established in 2006 by students of Lama Jampa Thaye and opens its doors to newcomers every Tuesday at 8pm

Learn how to meditate and hear about the unique perspective on life that Buddhism has to offer, in a relaxed and friendly environment.

Programme for Spring 2018

  • Tuesday evenings from mid-February a new cycle of 10 talks will begin covering all aspects of the foundations of Buddhism. This cycle will be repeated over the next few of months but each cycle will cover different topics and will be delivered by our team of 7 Buddhist practitioners.

Our friendly and informal meetings take place every Tuesday at 8pm, providing an introduction to Buddhist meditation, teachings and practice. The sessions are led by experienced students of Lama Jampa Thaye. An introduction to the method of calm-abiding meditation is also fully explained and practised. The evenings include a short talk on a topic about basic Buddhist teachings, and end with a short contemplation on the topic, followed by time for questions, discussion and refreshments. The sessions are held for all those who wish to find out more about Buddhism and to practise meditation and last about an hour. In order to get a fuller understanding of these profound Buddhist teachings, you are recommended to attend at least a few sessions with us. Everyone is welcome whether or not you have any previous experience. There is no need to book.
