Following the success of previous Chenrezik retreats at Poulstone Court, we will be using this ideal country venue in Herefordshire once again for our eighth residential weekend Chenrezik retreat. This retreat is open to Dechen sangha members who have taken refuge and received a Chenrezik initiation and/or the reading transmission (lung) of the practice from Lama Jampa Thaye.
We will follow the sadhana called “The Benefit of Beings that Pervades Space: The Meditation Recitation of the Great Compassionate One” by Tangtong Gyalpo, the sadhana which is widely practised at our Dechen Centres.

This retreat is highly recommended if you are new to this Chenrezik practice as it will help you to become more familiar with it. Seasoned practitioners are also very welcome, as we can all enjoy and benefit from practising together in a group setting in this conducive environment.

Poulstone Court is a large Victorian house in rural Herefordshire, about an hour and a quarter’s drive from Bristol. Facilities there include a spacious meditation room with large windows and extensive rural views. We will set the room up with a beautiful shrine, carpets and cushions, which will create an inspiring practice space. There is a large living room where we can relax in breaks between sessions with self-service tea/coffee available all day/evening. There is also a large dining room where delicious vegetarian food is served three times a day. All this is surrounded by open countryside with the River Wye close by. Special diets can also be catered for here on request.

The Practice Programme will consist of one and a half hour sessions (excepting the first session on Friday evening which will be one hour) of Chenrezik practice at the following times: Friday: 8.00 – 9.00pm;  Saturday: 9.00am, 11.30am, 5.00pm, 7.30.00pm.  Sunday: 9.00am, 11.30am, 2.00pm

The weekend will start on the Friday with arrival any time after 3.00pm and dinner at 6.30pm, and will end on the Sunday after the third session at 3.30pm. Breakfast is self-service and available before 9.00am, lunch is served at 1.00pm and dinner at 6.30pm.

Cost: £225.  There is an extra £5 daily charge if a special diet is requested.

Accommodation:  The bedrooms are large and spacious all with views. There are 5 twin rooms so book early if you’d like to share one of these.  Other rooms have 4 or 5 beds sharing and are very spacious.  Please email your request if you’d like a twin room. There is one single room which is available at a small extra charge.

Please note: Also, if you have any special dietary needs, Poulstone Court cooks are very accommodating on this. All meals are lacto-vegetarian, but should you require meals that are, dairy-free, gluten-free or for any other specific request, please let us know. There may be a £5 extra charge for these.
