One of the leading teachers of Buddhism in the West, Lama Jampa Thaye, is coming to Bath for the launch of his latest book “Wisdom in Exile: Buddhism and Modern Times” on Wednesday 15 November.Wisdom in Exile: Buddhism and Modern Times is a series of essays on the changing spiritual landscape of the West since the Reformation, the arrival of Buddhism within that landscape, and the opportunities and challenges this extraordinary practical philosophy faces in its new-found home. This is not just another book about Buddhism. It is an invitation to our own Western culture, and the small world of Buddhism within that, to engage in serious analysis of some of our most deeply held ideas and opinions.
“Wisdom in Exile proposes a fresh approach to Buddhism, one in which the fundamental tenets of the Buddha’s teachings are rediscovered.” (His Holiness the 41st Sakya Trizin, head of the Sakya School of Tibetan Buddhism).
