Buddha Day – Lha Bab Duchen

Buddha Day – Lha Bab Duchen – Sixteen Sthaviras Puja

Lha Bab Duchen (‘Descent from the heaven realms’) is one of the four major festivals in the Buddhist year.

On this day we commemorate Buddha’s descent from the heaven realms where he had spent three months teaching his mother to repay her kindness.

At the Sakya Centre we will mark the day with the recitation of the Sixteen Sthaviras puja & The Praise of the Twelve Deeds of Shakyamuni Buddha.

The reading transmission is required to participate in the puja (this was given by Lama Jampa in London in October 2019).
