Buddha Day – Lha Bab Duchen

This practice will take place online at 10am, please email bristol@dechen.org for details.

Buddha Day – Lha Bab Duchen – 16 Sthaviras Puja

Lha Bab Duchen (‘Descent from the heaven realms’) is one of the four major festivals in the Buddhist year. It commemorates the return of the Buddha from the heaven realm of Tushita where he had gone to give teachings to his mother and the other beings reborn there.

The day will be marked with the recitation of The Praise of the Twelve Deeds of Sakyamuni Buddha and the very beautiful Sixteen Sthaviras Puja.

The reading transmission is required to participate in the puja (this was given recently by Lama Jampa in London in October 2019).  All welcome to sit in.
