After the great success of our first residential weekend Chenrezik retreat, we have booked Poulstone Court in rural Herefordshire again for the weekend of Friday 24th to Sunday 26th November 2017. Lama Jampa has given his approval that this event should feature in our annual Dharma programme, and the retreat is open to Dechen sangha members from the South and South West UK initially, and then to those further afield if there is sufficient accommodation.

This retreat is highly recommended to both new Chenrezik practitioners to help familiarise themselves with the pracice, as well as seasoned practitioners, all of whom can enjoy practising together in a group set-up in this conducive environment.

Poulstone Court is a large Victorian house in rural Herefordshire, about an hour and a quarter’s drive from Bristol. Facilities there include a spacious meditation room with large windows and extensive rural views, which will be set up with our beautiful Chenrezik thangka, shrine and Tibetan carpets, to create an inspiring practice space. There is also a large living room full of sofas with self-service tea/coffee available at all times, as well as the dining area, with delicious vegetarian food cooked and served by venue staff exactly on cue, three times a day. Special diets can also be catered for.

You can see pictures of the 2016 retreat here:  ChenrezikRetreatNov16.

Practice Programme: this will consist of one-hour sessions of Chenrezik practice at the following times: Friday:8pm   Saturday: 9am, 11am, 3pm and 5pm     Sunday: 9am, 11am, 2pm

We will follow the sadhana called “The Benefit of Beings that Pervades Space: The Meditation Recitation of the Great Compassionate One“ by Tangtong Gyalpo, the sadhana which is widely practiced at our Dechen Centres.

The weekend will start on the Friday with arrival time any time after 4pm and dinner at 7pm, and will end on the Sunday after the third session at 3pm.

Cost: £170 including 3 meals per day.  £70 deposit will be payable in advance. To secure your place the deposit is payable in advance (non-returnable unless retreat is cancelled), and the balance will be requested about a month before the event.  Once you have paid your deposit, you will receive full details of the course (nearer the time.)  See below to register and pay the deposit.

Accommodation:  The bedrooms are large and spacious all with views.  There are 5 twin rooms so book early if you’d like one of these. And please email your request if you’d like a twin or smaller room.

Please note: The retreat is only open to Dechen sangha members who have taken refuge and received a Chenrezik initiation and/or the reading transmission (lung) of this practice from Lama Jampa Thaye.
