Atisha’s Precepts

‘Atisha’s Precepts’ offers us an intimate and practical guide to the spiritual life. In this short text of 40 verses, Atisha sets out pithy advice on how to transform the experiences of one’s everyday life into the path to enlightenment.

(This great Indian master (982-1054) was responsible for the second spread of Dharma in Tibet. He remained for some time in the Tibetan province of Ngari and was asked before his departure to give some final instructions- these very precepts.)

Each session will involve sitting meditation, listening to a section of the teaching, and time for reflection and questions. The day will be ideal for anyone wanting to deepen their understanding of the Buddhist path.

  • Copies of the of the text will be available on the day.
  • Please arrive by 1015 for 10.30 start
  • The day will be divided into four one hour sessions: 10.30-11.30, 12.00-1.00, 2.00-3.00, 3.30-4.30
  • Please bring lunch to share.
