Description |
There will be a Green Tara meditation day this summer, on Saturday 24th July, as well as the monthly pujas, in the Sakya Buddhist Centre in Bristol.
Green Tara is revered as the mother of all Buddhas and the embodiment of wisdom and compassionate activity. She is one of the most widely practised meditation deities in Buddhism and her blessings provide protection from all fears and sicknesses. Anyone who has taken refuge and received a Green Tara initiation (from any lineage) and the reading transmission (lung) for this particular sadhana is welcome to join us (Lama Jampa is giving an initiation and the lung in Bristol on July 3rd). We do the practice in Tibetan but if you are new to it you can sit in and join the prayers, following the text in English and learning the tune by absorption. There is an instruction booklet for the practice based on a teaching by Lama Jampa called “Swift to Liberate” available from the shop. Meditation Day on Saturday 24th July
