We are delighted to announce that His Holiness Ratna Vajra Rinpoche the 42nd Sakya Trizin (throne holder) has accepted an invitation from Lama Jampa Thaye to visit Sakya Changlochen Ling on the afternoon/evening of 27th June this year, when Rinpoche will bestow the Torma Initiation of Vajrakilaya from the Khön lineage. The initiation will start at around 2.15pm. Refreshments will be available after the initiation. Vajrakilaya embodies the indestructible compassion of enlightened mind which transcends all negative emotions and is one of the chief deities of both the Sakya and Nyingma traditions. Many of you will remember the wonderful visit of His Holiness Sakya Trizin to Changlochen in July 2014. Now we are very excited to be able to welcome His Holiness’s eldest son, who will by then have been enthroned as the 42nd Sakya Trizin. Although the visit will be brief we do hope that as many of you as possible will come, to make the visit a great success. Attendance at the initiation is restricted to those who have made a formal commitment to Buddhism by taking refuge. It is incumbent upon those who receive the initiation to maintain the three vows (individual liberation, bodhisattva and vajrayana vows) after receiving the initiation. Travel: You can travel by road and ferry, or by rail to Le Bugue or Le Buisson, near Sakya Changlochen Ling. There are direct flights with RyanAir (www.ryanair.com) to Bergerac from London, Bristol, Bournemouth, Liverpool, and other places. You can get a taxi to Bergerac station (best to pre-order from Abeilles Bergerac). The train takes about one hour to Le Bugue or Le Buisson from where you can get a taxi (Archambeau – again pre-order). Or you could share a taxi from the airport to Sakya Changlochen Ling. Alternatively you could fly to Bordeaux or Limoges, both of which are 2 to 3 hours from Le Bugue or Le Buisson by road or rail. From there it is a short taxi journey to Sakya Changlochen Ling. Alternatively you can hire a car from any airport. If driving down, one can find Changlochen on Google Maps by typing in “Sakya Changlochen Ling’. |
