10.30am – 1.00pm: Discriminating the Three Vows by Sakya Pandita. Part 6 (open to all)Online booking will be available a few weeks before the event via the Dechen London website. Lama Jampa is giving a series of teachings that will transmit Sakya Pandita’s extensive presentation of the Buddhist path. This is a rare opportunity to receive one of the main texts taught in the Sakya Shedra (College of Studies). Sakya Pandita’s masterpiece offers a brilliant examination of the spiritual disciplines found in the Three Vehicles. Topics dealt with in this work include the reality of the Buddha nature, the ethics of a bodhisattva and the correct practice of Vajrayana. 2.30 – 4.30 pm: Initiation of Marichi*In Vajrayana the deity Marichi (Ozer Chenma ) is a very powerful protective goddess guarding the practitioner from harms caused by obstructive and negative forces. Symbolically she is regarded as the goddess of dawn, signifying the illumination that she bestows. This particular initiation is drawn from the collection known as The One Hundred Initiations of Bari Lotsawa. *In order to attend the initiation in the afternoon one must have made a formal commitment to the Buddhist path through ‘Taking Refuge‘. If you would like to request to take refuge prior to the initiation please email: london@dechen.org [Please note that as many people from the Centre will be going to this teaching, there will be no Saturday morning meditation class in Bristol on this date]. ![]() |
