Description
We are delighted that Paul Rogers will return to the Bristol Sakya Centre this spring to lead another day of study and meditation on Sunday 6th April 2025 [please note that there will be no Chenrezik puja on this day].

Paul is a long standing student of Lama Jampa Thaye and coordinator of our Exeter Buddhist Group, Sakya Namgyal Ling.

“Parting from the Four Attachments”

Paul will be taking us through a commentary on “Parting from the Four attachments” a renowned Sakya teaching that condenses the whole bodhisattva path into four lines.

The study and practice of this teaching is founded on a comprehensive and powerful system of contemplative meditations. Following the path from the beginning, it enables us to deal with progressively more subtle attachments that can become obstacles to liberation. Tackling these will help us to: set out on and authentically practise the Buddhist path, become aware of our relationship and responsibilities to sentient beings, and understand how we are to view phenomena in general.

Sessions:

Each session will involve sitting meditation, listening to a section of the teaching, and time for reflection and questions. The day will be ideal for anyone wanting to deepen their understanding of the Buddhist path. Copies of the of the text will be available on the day.

  • Please arrive by 10.15am for a 10.30am start
  • The day will be divided into four one hour sessions: 10.30-11.30, 12.00-13.00, 2.00-3.00, 3.30-4.30
  • Refreshments will be provided but please bring some lunch (to share if you wish)
  • Facility Fee: £15 per day or £5 per session

We look forward to welcoming you to this teaching
