Description
You are invited to join us for a day of meditation in the peaceful environment of the Sakya Buddhist Centre in Bristol.

This day is ideal for those who have some experience of meditation and who wish to deepen their understanding and take some time to practise.

Calm-abiding meditation

The sessions will be lead by students of Lama Jampa Thaye, the Spiritual Director of the Centre. We will use the instructions for meditation given in his book Diamond Sky: Preparing for Vajrayana”. This book provides an accessible and practical account of the Buddhist path, including instruction in the practice of calm-abiding meditation, where we learn to settle the mind until it rests naturally in stillness. Lama Jampa describes the common problems encountered when practising meditation, with practical remedies to apply to these. He also describes the various stages of settling the mind.
