Gönkar Meditation Day

A day of practice of ‘The Cycle of Gonpo Yhizin Norbu’, composed by Sangye Puntsok (1649-1705) the 25th abbot of Ngor E-wam Choden.

Gonpo Yizhin Norbu (Gönkar or White Mahakala) is the wealth and protection bestowing emanation of Chenrezik. His practice was originally transmitted in the Shangpa Kagyu lineage and later preserved in the Sakya tradition where it is relied upon by many meditators. The ‘Great White Lord’ is a powerful protector of those practicing the Vajrayana. This practice is also efficacious in bringing about prosperity for the furtherance of the holy Dharma.

The day will consist of three 1 hour sessions. The first will be a guided meditation, in which some instruction on how to do the practice will be given.

This event is open to those who have taken refuge and received the relevant initiation and reading transmission for the sadhana.

Please note: Lama Jampa will be giving the initiation and the lung on June 7th 2025 in Bristol full details here. He also gave it in Bristol on 25th January 2020 and January 21st 2023.

Copies of the sadhana: are available from the Centre and cost £10 each.

• Session 3: (with Q & A): 2.00pm – 3.00pm

Please arrive in good time for the start of each session.

Refreshments will be provided, but if you are there for lunch please bring some food to share.

Facility Fee: £15 per day or £5 per session (or donate what you are able – donations can be made online here or via the donation box / card reader at the Centre).
