Description

Parting from the Four Attachments (Zhenpa Zhidral)

“Parting from the four attachments” (the Zhenpa Zhidral) is a renowned Sakya mind training teaching in Tibetan Buddhism. It encapsulates the whole Mahayana path in only four lines and highlights the ways we can stray off the path if we’re not careful. The commentaries on this teaching include the remedies for each of the four attachments, and one of the most studied is that of Jetsun Drakpa Gyaltsen, a founding master of the Sakya tradition. Entitled “Pith instruction on parting from the four attachments,” this is an invaluable support for us because it compassionately but incisively points to those wrong turnings that we might make as we practise the path – the three trainings of morality, meditation and wisdom.

Everyone is very welcome to attend this day of study and meditation, which will be presented by Paul Rogers, long standing student of Lama Jampa Thaye and coordinator of our Exeter Buddhist Group, Sakya Namgyal Ling.

This day is ideal for anyone wanting to deepen their understanding of the buddhist path and engage with these transformative meditations.

Session times: 10.30-11.30 / 12.00-1.00 / 2.00-3.00 / 3.30-4.30.

Please bring some food to share for lunch

Fee: £20 for the day (Concessions available)
