The Sakya Trizin Enthronement Ceremony

The 9th March 2017 marked the enthronement of His Holiness Ratna Vajra Rinpoche as the 42nd Sakya Trizin, the supreme head of the Sakya school of Buddhism.

This landmark event took place in Sakya Magon Thubten Namgyal Ling in Puruwala India, with a suitably rich programme of offerings, addresses, cultural celebratory events and teachings.

Lama Jampa Thaye attended this auspicious occasion with his wife Dechen Dolma.  As spiritual director of the Dechen community of Buddhist Centres, including the Sakya Centre in Bristol, Lama Jampa has invited the great Sakya lamas to teach on many occasions.

His Holiness succeeds his father, the 41st Sakya Trizin, who visited the Sakya centres in Bristol and London many times to bestow teachings and initiations upon members of the Dechen sangha.

We are truly delighted to be receiving a visit to Bristol from His Holiness Ratna Vajra Rinpoche, the new Sakya Trizin, in May this year as part of his very first teaching tour following the enthronement.

The visit to Bristol includes a Public Talk open to all and a vajrayana initiation open to those who have taken refuge and committed to the Buddhist path.

Advanced online bookings for these events are now open.
